Sweetheart Show at Durango Arts Center

My new mixed media drawings using collage, pigment and sands are being shown at the Durango Arts Center through February 20 - part of the Show honoring the 2016 Sweethearts.  The Friends of the Art Library (FOAL), Barbara Klema, Deborah Gorton, Louise Grunewald, Leesa Gawlik, and Jane Steel are also showing wonderful artworks.

The White Season - alternative view

The opening reception of THE WHITE SEASON at the Durango Arts Center was truly a celebration of winter with very cold temperatures and very icy roads after a few days of snow.  The approach to the entry doors was lite with little snowball sculptures and the lobby was dimly lit with candles and icicles in snow. The overall effect of the varied media of the show's artists, white on white, varied shades of white, blues and black was ethereal and meditative.  Test on three walls spelled out poetry that spoke of winter. A great crowd showed up which was quite amazing considering the weather.
